The local Ace Hardware is doing a sale on Lignetics Premium Hardwood Pellets next weekend. The price seemed pretty decent. How are these pellets? Anything else I should be looking for here in MA?

Most people like the lignetics depending on which one...not sure which is preferred. What is the price per ton?

They were saying $239 for the 31st and 1st only. I guess they normally have them for $269

We like 'em .....Good heat, relatively clean and not too ashy.......paying 209 a ton at our local agway......just grabbed another ton a couple of weeks ago

Green label ligs are nice. Check the local boxstore for Pres-to-logs. They are made by lignetics and just as good IMHO.

Green(lettered) label was prefered over the blue when ligs was having fiber issues. This may have changed since they have improved quality.

That is a pretty descent price for those. The big box stores are also a good option depending on what they have. Are there any pellet dealers near you?

There are a few pellet dealers. Most of them seem to be selling pellets between $280-$300 for various brands

I found the green label are good, the blue label not so good

My experience with them has been the heat output was OK but hard to find anything dustier and producing more ash than when burning Lignetics, blue OR green bag lettering. I`m done with them as long as something better is available. I`ll gladly pay the premium for something else..

I wonder sometimes if the dust isn't caused by over handling. I've seen people throwing the bags into trucks like it's cord wood.

Just got home from pulling the trigger at my local Ace on the Ligs....$220 after a $5 coupon. The new Ligs look smaller and a bit darker than the PTL's I have leftover from last year. Hope I didn't make a mistake buying these.

In general, color usually doesn't have a big effect on heat output. I burned the green letter last yr. , both the 100% hardwood and the blend, and liked them both.

I love the PTL's from last year...if the Ligs burn anywhere close or better than those, I'll be very happy....The PTL's from a few years ago (very dark in color) were very ashy in my old PDVC...not the case from last years batch.

last year i burnt about 4 ton of the green they performed above average than most i tried . Price last year was $219 this year im paying $229... not to bad

my 25-pdv liked the green ligs just fine

it really liked the hamers

turmans too

stove chow , not so much

newp , i'll give em a maybe along w/ the o'malley

just bought 15 bags of great american pellets today for 30 bucks , will see ..........

and a used castile yesterday , for a friend , going through the whole thing and installing it in the next week or two w/ my old 3"vent in his fireplace hearth , going to 4" for my basement install

where exactly did ya get the ligs? i like em and would buy more at that number and will be up that way soon

I got mine from Dana's hardware in Tunkhannock, PA. I dont know if they do delivery.

I burned 2.5 tons of green ligs last year. They had descent heat but lots of dust in the bag. Average fines in the combustion chamber. They go for 235 a ton here and barefoots at 255 make the ligs a poor buy for me. I was able to get more heat out of the barefoot and the less ash and a near dust free bag makes the up charge well worth it.
