I don't mind the winter being cold, its how long it lasts. Burnt from mid October thru Memorial. Give me a break.

I know what you mean. We had a snowstorm in many parts memorial day weekend. Felt sorry for all the campers who woke up to 4" of white.

I just posted somewhere else in here with a simular thread. I think the wood burners will be fine, they are used to winter conditions and keeping their homes & families warm.

wait a minute... this winter is going to be cold??? I need to get into business, I could predict these things.

Winter being cold is relative I guess. Winter before last we didn't go thru a tank of gas in the snowblower and started riding the motorcycle in March when the temps hit the seventies. Burnt less than 3 tons.

Did you read the story about the arctic ice cap? It was over 60% larger August 2013 than it was August 2012. Over 1 million square miles larger. Bad sign for us and this winter?

Also limited solar flare activity.

I remember well how we had a record hot summer last year and then came October and all was a memory.

Should be sending some cool air your way tomorrow. Today 84, tomorrow 70.

Learn the difference between total ice area and total ice volume before you go buying into the climate denialist claptrap....

I don't buy into whatever the popular term is today. The only constant in nature is CHANGE. From ice age to tropical conditions, the planet always has swung from one side of the pendulum to the other, and will continue regardless of mankind. Almost evry kind of weather we have experienced in the last decade has happened before.

Dont the surface ice ,regardless of the thickness reflect more sunlight thus causing a lowering trend in temps?

Seems in the past the world gradually warmed until or unless some event caused the warming to reverse, pick one volcano, comet or meteor strike.
