Oh man, just started scouting out a bigger bar & chain for my 038 magnum. 16! 84dl sounds like too many for such a nice guy as yourself.... What gauge?

Even used I'm looking at close to a buck for a couple chains and a bar in the 25" range.

Great deal!

it was all 3/8-.050......just the way I like 'em!

You can send me the .325 20 inch buddy ! ;) since you wont be using it !

Finally got caught up around the house, went out to the shop and took a pic of my cache.....first pic is two sets of (8) 25" full chisel full comp chains, the second pic is the 12" and the (8) 14" chains......I'll be set for a while. Now I'm waiting for that new 25" Archer bar to come in the mail. Anyone ever used that brand? It's a solid machined bar with replaceable Oregon-style sprocket tip.......

I bought it for 30 bucks plus shipping, brand new. Couldn't beat the price, so I though I'd give it a try.

Nice... That's a great score for a great price!!

John boy - a 20" chain w/ 72 drive links is not .325. That is .375 (3/8"). Never seen an 044 w/ .325 anyways. That chain is only found on small saws.

72 .. will fit nicely on my 044 i picked up for 60.00 bucks ,, now that was a deal ! :)

I'll check here in a bit......

Why on earth do you want to run .325 on an 044? 3/8" (.375) is standard and that saw will haul wearing a 20" bar running 3/8" chain.

.325 with 72 drivers is an oddball for Stihl. Measure the gauge, if it's .050 or .058 then it's most likely an 18" loop for a Husky or other brand as EVERY Stihl I can remember with the option to run .325 runs .063 gauge chain.

This is definatley a .325 chain, with 81 drivers. I'll have to check on the gauge tomorrow.....

81 drivers is a 20" loop for 3003 mount bars. That's just about any Stihl that has any business running 20" in .325. 029/290/291, 270/271, 280 and the 260/261 are the most common wearers of 20" .325 loops.

Well, you could put large mount Stihl .325 B&C on an 044 (or a 460), though I do not know why anyone would. I never liked .325 large or small mount B&C on any of my Stihl saws. I run 3/8 Picco on the small mount saws, and 3/8 std. on all the larger ones. Even my 50cc J-red has 3/8 B&C.
