Just go the stove and fan. Is this a Thermostatic fan that is supposed to turn off and on automatically? The directions it came with are horrible. Thanks!

Yes, the fan kicks on and off as the stove heats and cools automatically. Good fans, pretty quiet. You can adjust speed with the knob and turn them fully off but you can't force the fans on.

With a constant heat source like a cat stove full of fuel, you will find that you only need the fans when you desire a rapid change in temperature such as if you are away for days and let the fire die.

Mine comes on when I turn it on and won't turn off unless I manual turn it off. Faulty?

Snap disc has failed. There is a device that makes/breaks the electrical circuit based on temperature of the firebox. Yours has failed in the "hot on" position which beats the heck out of failing in the cold position but it has failed.

Follow the wires from the wall plug to the fans and you will find both the speed dial and the snap disc in line.

Is this on the old stove or the new one?

Brand new stove, brand new fan. Used once
Thanks Highbeam. BK echoed what you said. Snap disk and I'm getting one sent to me No Charge.

Ok. Just a follow up. They did send me a Snap disk. I opened up my fan and I could not find the defective one in it. I called my Dealer and he said he just learned ( a few days ago) that Blaze King does not ship snap disks any more with these. They are either on or off. Reason being is they were have issues and since the Blaze kings have such long burn times that the fan was running all the time anyway?. Cheers

That's weird. You would think BK might have known about this when they sent you the part.

This was a change that took place pretty fast. Chris said that he didn't even know about it till after the fact and quickly sent out apologizes to dealers.
Mine would run for days after the fire was out, I see no reason for a snap stat on a BK!

Actually my dealer sent me the part and he just got the notice from BK in between times.

My fan is on when need it, off when I don't. It's not like you're ever going to wake up to, or come home from work to, a cold stove with the blower running ;)

Mine still works fine, but my sister's was cycling on and off a lot. I just bypassed it instead of screwing with it. I agree, it's unnecessary.

The only time I would favor the snap disc is when I'm starting a fire in a cold stove, like recently, and I want the cat temp up and engaged as soon as possible. If I was a full-time-fan guy the fans would be running all the time and not only steal heat from the cat delaying engagement temps but also cause the cat temp probe to read wrong.

But really, I only use the fans when I need major mojo. In normal operation I use the dial and the snap disc never makes the decision. Fewer parts to fail, less expense, no big drawbacks, probably a good move by BK.
