Went to Lowe's yesterday and they have 3 brands with all the same characteristics. Green something, Madison?, and another brand.

The difference is the quality control and fibre source. Green "something" is Green Supreme....made by NEWP....poor at best.

All the same characteristics? You mean they were all wood pellets in 40# bags? Lol.

IHATEPROPANE and imacman are correct. Give us something to work with here.

sorry, i meant they are all:

100% hardwood
0.5 ash
and there are 2 other items on the bag which were the same.

Green Team, Somerset, two other I cannot remember.

Somersets are a favorite around here, and the gts get good reviews. Lucky to have those to pick from!

Now we know why you were so vague lol....You can stop at Somersets....buy those ...
Of course the usual discaimwr of trying before you buy tonage ....oh yeah...where are you located again :)

funny, i did happen to pick up a bag of somerset. i only need a few bags every now and then for my pellet baskets. did i mention i'm changing my handle to ILOVEPROPANE : )

Greene Team are a good pellet, although Lowes has been asking more for them (even though the specs are all the same).

If you can get the Somersets at the lower ton (contractors) price, grab as many tons as you can afford/store.....they are THAT good.

BTW, the contractors ton price seems to be either $209 or $219/ton, depending on location.

Let me correct that spelling ILOVEPROPAIN, there all fixed and the new spelling will save your hind quarters in all but the It's A Gas forum ;)

Just called and confirmed that Lowe's has
Dedham: Pres-to-logs and Natures own
Quincy: Somerset and Hearthside

Excluding the Heathside I would have to say south shore has a better selection then north shore.

thanks I will check out Lowe's in Wareham.

if u want somerset, Quincy is alot better than wareham, that's an extra 40+ miles south.

mass_burner....
I live on Cape Cod. Wareham is 22 minutes from me. Quincy is 40+

I will call them today.
Thanks for the info.

Update 10/4/13 10am Phonecall

Lowe's Wareham, Ma has.....
Green Team $5.47 / bag ($273.50 ton)
Inferno $219.10 /ton

Garden Department Guy said he did not have any Somersets

I've called 3 Lowes around me, Seekonk, Dartmouth and Raynham. All had a mix of Hearthside, Greene Team, Green Supreme and Inferno's. The guy in the garden center of Lowes Dartmouth said that the Somerset's fly out as soon as they come in and people seem to know beforehand when they will be there.

hey Nailer.i saw this post a couple days ago and passed the info onto a friend of mine.girl on the other end of line told him they had no sets.he asked to speak to outside lawn and low and behold they do have sets.they delivered 3 ton next day from dartmouth to taunton.$219 a ton plus $65 delivery.motto of the story is "dont take no for an answer".
