About a year ago we had Hurricane Sandy. It took a bunch of trees down.
I showed some pictures in this thread.

Thought it would be interesting to post a few shots of what the area looks like now...one year later

From March -- things were very much a work in process...

I'm sure everyone will notice the tarps laying around. I use them to top cover the stacks I will need this season. Not much rain in the forecast, so I removed them for a few weeks...not too obsessive though...

Still a lot of work to do but things are getting better.

Glad to see some good come of that damn storm.

Nice.

So much firewood still to be had from Sandy. It stuns me.

You are stronger than the storm...

I got alot of wood in NEPA throughout the last year that came down during Sandy.

looking good

Some of the limited benefits of storms, and we know there arent many

Some nice stacking there and good for you getting the wood ready. Is that poison ivy I see! That is a large vine for sure!

Your stacks and quantity looks great, I'm in the same boat as you, I started out with sandy wood, now I have 6 full cords on property, how much to you think you have? And again, great job.....

Those stacks are a combination of hard maple, ash, oak, hickory and some sassafrass. No complaints from me on that variety. I've got some pine rounds back there too waiting to be split.

I think there are 3-4 cord stacked. I've got 3x that much to still c/s/s.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's poison ivy. I cut a large section of the vine, so hopefully it will not keep growing. Before Sandy I didn't get back there much so I didn't even know it was there.
