I am trying to replace the by-pass gate because the old one was warped and would no longer open or close. I ordered a new one, but when i started to replace it, I realized that the top of the firebox (the part the combustor sits on) is also warped. The gate will not sit now so that it can be mounted. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Yes I have experience with this. The only way to fix is to disassemble the stove and rebuild. My inner top plate was warped as well. There is a new design now so that will not happen. I just rebuilt my stove new for this winter. There is a piece missing in the top plate now that a drop in "inner web" fits into and alleviates the warping in the top plate supposedly.

Good luck with the fix. These little stoves are really awesome.
