Picked up three bags of Marth pellets at L&M Fleet Supply in Hibbing, MN because I was down to the last five bags of Heartland pellets.
Fines seem to be a bit higher - 2/3 cup per bag. Not a huge amount of dust, more pellet "crumbs".
Hard to tell on burn properties as we have only been burning a few hours at night.
Price $3.49/bag

What's your experience with them?

Also noticed that the Heartlands are a "taller" profile in the bag compared to the Marth. Bag weights, size are the same; more air trapped in Marth bag.

Marth are produced right here in Marathon Wi.

I personally didn't care for the brown bag hardwoods. They also offer pine pellets which I liked.

Word on the street is Marth buys their fiber from wherever they can get it, so it's hit and miss. Especially the hardwoods.

my $.02

Do you recall anything specific of why you didn't like them? Hardwood pellet from this area you do like?

Jay seemed to like them.

It's probly just because I'm spoiled with Canadian softwoods.

They seemed ashy in comparison.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to notice;) The Coors can was a generous donation left on the side of the road by a snowmobiler . My Earth Day contribution when I'm out walking the dog - the snow recedes and the garbage is all over:(

I bought a half ton or so of Pennywise back in 2009, and those were made by Marth. Not a bad pellet for heat and ash, but there were a lot of long pellets in the bag and they were very dusty. Haven't seen them in my area since.

Haven't found any super long pellets - a few that are 1-1/2" but most about 1" or smaller. Not much for dust but many tiny chunks off pellets that fall through 1/4" screen. More carbon build-up in the burn pot than the Heartlands burning at power 1. Seem to be a good shoulder pellet with a far cheaper price $3.49US vs. $5.99Cdn.

I know these post are old , but I dont understand where everybody is getting this excessive dust in the Marth hardwood pellets i buy them just for the opposite reason i find virtually no dust in my bags with very little ash.As far as heat no there not top notch but they burn clean! Although I dont buy at farm stores but earth sense . just thought i would weigh in Marth pellets burn great in my xxv I use a feed rating of three on my stove & clean it every 7 days.

My thought is the amount of dust and small broken pellets is related to the trucking miles they have on them.

I stumbled upon this idea this year. The pellets I bought this year were made in Corunna Michigan about 17 miles from me. I picked them up at the factory and they have the least dust small fragments of any pellet I've ever used. That's about 10 different brands I've tried. That got me to thinking no bouncing around for 200 or more miles.

Okay thats good. Do you have any availability to uncle jeds cold remedy pellets? there very good
Everyone is different it seems. I bought a ton of Uncle Jeds the first year I had my stove, the worse pellets I ever burned. I only burned pellets for two years and now nothing but corn. I buy a bag of pellets once a year just to start fires and then for the final burn of the season so I really don't care about anything except price.

I had bought them from the pellet nazi and never bought anything from them again after hearing bad reviews of their business model and the crap they were pulling here in Wisconsin.

As far as Marth, they make a lot of different types and rebrand them with different names. I know I did burn some the first couple of years and they seemed OK at that time. Good price from what I remember compared to other available pellets. I suppose that's because they were in state so cheaper for transportation prices.

What was so bad about the uncle jeds . what kinda of stove do you have? I can burn corn in my xxv but never have.
My stove is in my signature line, USSC 6039HF. The Uncle Jeds burned very dirty, didn't matter what I tried with air flow. Low heat output compared to other pellets. I've got notes in a notebook somewhere I have all the temps recorded from different pellets and my setting on the stove to compare them.

I started calling them Uncle Junks. But like I said everyone is different, different stoves, setups all those things make a difference, just like some not liking the Marth pellets were I found them OK for the price.

If you can burn corn you should learn how, right now I'm getting it for $110 a ton, actually about 2400-2600lbs. Heat output is much higher with how I have the stove setup. Even if you don't want to go 100% corn like I do you could mix with pellets and save some money. If you are near Green Bay I can PM you the farmer I get the corn from, Grade 1 extremely clean, just moved a ton on Friday and not any husks and only about 8 gallons of dusk collect through the corn vac. Going to get another ton tomorrow.

Okay cool thanks for the heads up on the corn. My stove burns uncle jeds just fine but i do burn marths cause they seem to have less dust and not much difference in heat to me i really like the Marth hardwoods.
