Has anyone looked into a way to manually control the blower speed (for the heat exchanger)? I do not like that it is a fixed ratio and would really like to be able to adjust it myself.

Not a good idea ... the unit is certified as it is so any changes you make would void warranty and home owners insurance since it is no longer as certified. Too high heat removal could result in creosote formation and trip low limit sensor on exhaust, too little will trip heat sensors and shut down the stove.

Thinking on that though, if the combustion is clean and understanding the heat exchange is still not completely efficient by any means there is still 'hot' exhaust being forced up the stack, correct? pretty much any of the older/manual models allow this capability. Admittedly I am probably wrong but I always feel like a lot of heat could be scavenged with the simple ability to run the blower fan faster. (ie. heat setting 3 but the ability to run the blower at an equivilant of 4 or 5).

There will be heat loss on exhaust but these parameters have been set to ensure safety of the end user. One example of too tight of an adjustment for energy efficiency is the Quadrafire Mount Vernon E2. They apparently didn't allow enough of a safety margin (fuel/air ratio) which resulted in glass door blow-outs. Board had to be recalibrated which resulted in the recall of approximately 2000 stoves and a reduction of originally claimed output and efficiency.
thats a good point for sure. Im not sure if I am using the wrong term....by 'blower' I am referring to the heat exchange fan which circulates the room, not the combustion blower. I can absolutely see the lack of benefit in adjusting that (especially since the enviro has an adjustable combustion air slide on the exhaust).
The enviro seems to have a fair margin in the exchanger parameter however.....the upgraded factory blower, feed plate restrictor etc...all point to the fact the stove is running 'hot' and efficiency could be improved simply by moving heat off the exchanger faster in my opinion. Again this is a speculation, but this something any non-automated pellet burner does and thermal transfer is always better with a bigger delta from source to exchanger.
In the end, youre absolutely right....it was calibrated for best all around performance, but all of us here are a bit more interested in efficiency/heat output/etc.. than the average consumer haha, so I was not sure if anyone else had looked into this or not.

I understand that it is the room blower (heat exchanger fan) not the combustion blower. My point is how quickly heat is extracted off the combustion chamber may effect other parameters ... but I'm no engineer
