purchasing this fireplace insert just wondering which liner would be best. dalsin type 304 stainless steel .018 26 gauge liner or the HS ultra pro 316 ti alloy liner .005 liner 24 gauge
 
Dont really know either brand can you post links to them? #04 is just fine for wood you dont need 316 for wood but it will work fine as well. 316 steel is quite a bit more expensive than 304 so with the same type liner 304 will cost less. We always use heavy wall liners for wood stoves. The light wall stuff will work fine but we prefer the extra thickness from heavy wall stuff. And .005 is the thinnest of the light walls out there
 
And since bholler did (surprisingly) not mention it: An insulated liner is a good idea and in most cases even required since most masonry chimneys don't have enough clearance to combustibles.
