I've been burning wood for approx. 10 years. We own a few acres of oak / hickory trees which provide us with plenty of free wood. I also have a small 20 ton log splitter, a couple of chain saws and a VC Dutchwest wood stove that works pretty good given that we burn 24/7 from mid-November to mid-April. Going out into the woods to get wood for the winter is a family affair that my wife of 33 years and my 9 year old son and I do together.
