    Me-One question if I may. Do the fans shorten the burn time?
    I could be wrong but I don't think they do.

    BKVP-Hot coals you are indeed correct. The surface of any wood stove acts as a heat exchanger. Air movement removes heat from the steel and makes room for more heat absorption.
