THE STOVE:
Brother and I installed a new St Croix Prescott EXP
Pellet stove on the fireplace hearth vented all
the way up the chimney with 18 ft of Simpson Duravent in the Fall of 2005.
The stove provides more heat than we expected.
Edit: During the recent cold snap when temps dipped to as low as
-15 w windchill, (Jan 2013) the Prescott performed phenomenally. Furnace was completely off while the stove kept my house 74F/72F/69F and that's with stove set @ #3 for 23 1/2 hrs a day
and #5 for half hour every morning.
Oct. 2008 - Installed an OAK because
I grew tired of the cold draft flowing across the
floor from the stove! No more cold feet, yeah!
Install one if you haven't already.
