I have gone through 2 tons of Green Supremes since the beginning of October. It heats my whole 1600 sq. ft house. This is my first stove. I went with the M55cast FS. Has anyone gone through as much as me?

You are welcome to burn as many pellets as you want. Now it's getting cold out.
The trick is to keep it clean and only feed it just enough combustion air to burn the pellets correctly. I don't have the same stove, so I'm no help.

Before bed I put it on 4 or 5. With the feed at 1 and air at 4. Then depending on how cold put it on 2 or 3 overnight.
I started burning on Oct. 15th......just put bag # 42 into the stove this morning......it's cold here (18 °F ).

Absolutely key to successful heating is successful heat retention. I read so much about folks getting the biggest stove or the hottest pellets. Then cutting holes in their floors and walls in an attempt to move air within the home. Those investments never end. Good insulation is done once and pays back as long as you own your home. In really cold areas we are serious about our heating systems. I have triple layers of glass on most all my windows. Even have a storm slider for the atrium doors. Use a double entry to prevent heat loss when the door is opened. Use insulating blinds on windows. Seek out and plug all drafts around windows and doors. Recently had the house resided. They put on another layer of insulation, and did a house wrap and sealed around all the doors and windows. A bit over 2000 sq ft on two levels now mostly heated with one mid size pellet stove. Only my downstairs floor is not insulated. That floor has tile ove cement. Builder never thought the downstairs area would be finished. But with 4 kids, that extra space was really needed.

Title for most pellets burned, is not one I want to carry. I like to burn a few as possible, while keeping the house warm. During the Day, we have been using Zero heat (except Solar gain) the Wife kills the Furnace here in 2 hrs (7:00 a.m.)
Then I turn it back on when I get home. House doesn't get below 65* this way (for now- not Super Cold during the day).
Im sure there are some furnace or boiler guys out there that have burned that much, or more. But for a Freestanding unit, thats a lot for the Mild temps we have had. X3 on the insulation. A little bit can go a long way.

Well into my second ton. We been burning for quite a while though. I'm burning straight Oakies right now.
Definitely recommend checking your insulation. I didn't know it but I had r11 wall insulation in the attic and some very poorly done blown in cotton which had sunk and failed. I contacted mass save and they sent a guy out for the free energy audit. WELL worth it. Not only do you get like $500 worth of cfl, but they came in and air sealed my attic for free, then put propa vents in the eaves and 6" of blown cellulose for $350
I'm able to keep the house nice now with stove on 4 compared to before the oil would be turning on and stove was on 5 maxed out.
Guy also told me how to look for air leaks in my windows. I had one window in particular that was very cold. I pulled the molding and found 8 air leaks on one window. Look for black insulation inside the window cavity. Best thing to do is foam it with the non expanding closed cell window/door foam.
I think we'll see a pretty big difference in our use of pellets from here on. Have put the stove on 5 just in the mornings for a few days now. Those Oakies burn so hot I'm afraid I'm going to melt the inside of the stove. On 5 it's like standing next to the sun that thing gets so hot.

They approached me about a PPA solar agreement at no cost, I agreed and am getting a free solar system, no up front costs, 20 year lease 6800 kwh and the price is .05 cheaper than I'm paying for my current electric bill. No yearly escalator. It's a sweet deal which if anyone is interested shoot me an email I can give you a coupon for them.
I thought I was pretty good with home maintenance. Then when I talked to these guys I realized how much more I could save. Anything to get rid of this $@$@!! oil bill!

I also have an M55 but FS basically same stove. What is the temp in your house? If I run all day and nite I can easly go threw two bags especally at 4 and 5 settings. I didn't bother with the thermstate yet so far I like it that way. with the weather we have been having mostly burn at 3 and most turn on stove at nite. Sure I can set the thing at 4 and 5 and run it all day I would burn the same amont of pellets. I'm in LI NY so far maybe went threw 40 bags.

I'm way behind the pack. I'm on bag 19 for the season. Its 42 here now and sunny, so no need for the stove today, the house is still 66 from yesterdays fire. Each warm day is money in the bank as far as I am concerned.

Im at 1.5tons with the M55cast. I usually run on setting 3, feed trim 3 combustion 4. I started oct 18. Its been fairly mild so far. I was using thermostat on Hi Lo during evening and auto off while at work. I believe this has saved me some pellets since the stove was usually still off when I got home from work during the warmer days. I rarely use setting 4 or 5. Usually if its a little chilly we'll crank it to 4 for an hour or so but back to 3 for sleep time.

I am just over a ton and started burning in mid October, mostly at night at first and had the stove on Auto/Off mode. It's been on Hi/Low (heat level #4) since Early-Mid November with the T-stat set at 68. I was burning NEWP up until last weekend and then switched over to the Okanagans. I started out with 4.5 tons, now have just over 3 tons and plan on buying one more ton some time after Christmas. This is my first full season burning so I am still learning how to get the most out of the stove/pellet combinations.

I'm about 1.8 tons in, but I started heating on 10/10.
I heat 2100 sqft with two stoves. It's probably a bit more than I would've used, as we're from Texas and like keeping the house extra warm, hah.
In any case, I'd rather be filling the stoves than the oil tank.

Been through about 15 or so bags so far since October. We had a mild November and December hasn't been cold either.
