First I would like to say hi to everyone this is my first post. Also my first winter heating house with a pellet stove. My question is if it takes 3 tons of AWF @ 3.50 a bag to heat my house and I can buy Oaks for 6.00 a bag
(which I read a lot of people think they are the some of the best pellets out there for heat and cleaning and some people say you will use less pellets by using a great pellet) I will need to use about 62 bags less of the Oaks
to be the same price spent heating the house with the AWF. I dont mind cleaning the stove more often if im going to save the most with the AWF. Any input is welcome

Hello and welcome. I burn AWF and Somerset and am happy with them. I don't have Okies available here so I can comment on those, but an extra $2.50 a bag would be hard for me to swallow.

Price is always the equalizer. You can get a whole lot more AWF, Than you could Okies. But I'd still fetch a couple bags of the Okies. If they crank more heat for you? It might be worth getting a ton to settle in when its really cold out. AWF will handle the rest of the season.

Careful, You might get spoiled with them softies though! ;-)

Its a no brainer go with the AWF they should work fine. Maybe there not the best but they seem to work for me. Yea I could spend $100 more and get country boy but I'm doing this to save money. Some of these companies are getting a little to greedy just like the oil companies these pellets can start to get out of control.

62 bags is 2 bags a day for a month. Thats saying that Okies may cut your usage by one month..

Which they may... I live in Ohio and have no real options when it comes to Super Premiums. I just picked up 15 Bags of Old Dominion's and have not burned any yet. Waiting to do a full clean on one of the stoves to get accurate readings on output temp.

Buy a few bags of each. I have had some Really LOOOONG AWF's in the past. Avg length was 2" with some reaching 3". Just check to be safe.
