The faceplate surround is just balanced there at the moment because I didn't figure out yet how the clips work. Tonight the first fire got the stove to 250F and the house was so hot we had to open the doors. With the damper closed down, there are still visible flames after 6 hours, the fuel was 2 Envi-8 blocks. So far, I like the stove and look forward to colder days to really get it cranking.

Nice, clean install. Very nice.

Nice install.

I don't typically light my Osburn unless the temps are/will be below ~42 degrees for an extended period of time. Otherwise, it's too darn hot.

Nice install. Looks great! Those first few fires will be stinky. After the paint cures and the firebrick dries out you ll be loving it even more. Good luck!

I notice that when a good fire is going, if I open the door v.e.r.y.s.l.o.w.l.y the fire really goes nuts and roars and sucks in air like a hurricane. I guess that means that the draft is good and the chimney is working? For sure it generates a lot of heat.

Just hit a new maximum temp tonight, 650 measured on the top plate. I left the damper open and wasn't paying attention, and was shocked how quickly this stove took off and warmed up. Closed the damper down to minimum and now it's cruising at 550. No harm done, and the front glass is nice and clean now! The load is 6 Envi-8's. It's going to be a warm and economical winter. The oil delivery guy is in for a surprise.
