Ok so the thermostat that was supplied when i got my stove is a basic lux product. I want to add a digital thermostat like this one

I havent purchased it or one like it yet but i have a question regarding my booster fans in the duct work.
I will be fabbing up the full duct work from the stove all the way to the floor registers and i have these fans in each register
The model is the db206

What im wondering is, on the termostat there is a fan switch. This connection in back is labeled G for the addition of a fan in a 2 wire setup
Page 2 on manual below

I will have your normal 2 wire hook up from stove to therm with white and red to have the stove turn on and off at set times as usual.
What im wondering is there a way to wire in the fans so that once the stove starts the fans start and once the stove is off as room temp has reached set point the fans will shut off as well. Is this possible with the fans i have or is it wishful thinking?

Your thermostat control for your stove is a simple switch closure. No output voltage. To support the current needed for your fans plus a closure for your stove, you'd have to have the thermostat control a relay with contacts able to handle the fans plus a set of contacts for your stove.

So basically its not as simpe as connecting wires. It will be more trouble than its worth and i can just unplug and plug the fans in when needed.

I have 3 centrifugal fans being controlled with a ductstat. Works great. Kicks on when my blower get the duct up to temp.

I also started out with the exact fans i did not have much luck with them. Hope they work better for you.

I'd go with the ductstat, Mine worked great for many seasons.

If you insist on a stat to control the fans look into the AC or line voltage 120V stats and it has to have the Cooling option. As the room wrms up is when you want the fans to come on. If you use a heat stat it will be reverse of what you want. It will turn them off once the room warms. This is what I used before my ductstat was purchased.

J, Do you have all three fans connected to one ductstat. Ill make this hypothetical.

If my thermostat is set so the stove kicks on when the temp drops to 65 degrees, where does the ductstat get mounted. I would only want it to run once the stove kicks on and once the thermstat shuts the stove down have the fan blow for a bit to get all the extra heat i can but shut off after allthe heat has been exhausted

Is this possible. How did you guys set yours up to blow when the stove is on but shut off when its off to not get cold air?

It does exactly what you want. The ductstat has a thermistor. The resistance changes when heat is applied this triggers the relay to energize and supply voltage to whatever is plugged into it. Its adjustable for heating or cooling. You have to tinker with it a bit when first setting it up. You drill a hole in the duct. Place the ds which has a hole. (this is where the thermistor is located). Over the duct hole you drilled. This allows a bit of air to flow thru the ds.

The blower on my stove kicks on and the ducstat turns the fans on about 45 secs to 1 minute later. When i shut down the stove the stat runs for about 25 minutes or till the duct cools enough to make the Resistance change. Works excellent for my situation and the ductstat is fairly cheap in price.

YES..... All 3 fan connected to the ductstat. It can handle up to 5 amps.
