A few years ago I replaced my old power vent gas boiler with a high eff condensating type. Well, the old boiler has been sitting in the basement waiting to be demolished and carried out. I decided that this would make a nice "radiator". I re-plumbed this back into the basement zone, installed an aquastat to turn the fan on, and hot air comes out the flue pipe. I like it.

Now that is recycling!

Are you using the power venter to blow the hot air, or does it just radiate out the flue pipe?

I am using the power venter. Every thing was already in place. If it was an old gravity unit, I thought I would put a box fan under or behind it. Hey, by the way,
Merry Christmas to all !

Cool! Got pics?

Soo you're heating your basement ith a gas boiler, coverted to wood, :p, well kinda !!! That's cool

Now that is cool. I have an old Weil McLain oil boiler sitting in my bilco stair way waiting for a tractor to pull it out. might bring it back in and make a radiator our of it.

What I did was remove the circ and put a 3/4" flange on for the return and removed the relief valve, installed a 3/4" fitting for the supply. Let me know how this works out for you, happy holidays.
