I was in HD earlier today and noticed those little disks that they advertise on TV. They said they can take 3,000lbs. Just wondered if anybody had tried them.

I have seen people mention 2inch Schedule 40 Pipe.

Black pipe maybe, but 2" PVC? 3/4, 1" black would work on a smooth floor. If you use the disks take a video - the producer might like it. I think the disks are advertised for indoor (carpet, hardwood), not concrete.

Como,

I used some 1", thick walled, black pipe to move my Wood Gun around the basement in order to get my tank into position. Worked well. I don't think I would try the disk. Just out of curiousity. Why are you moving the Garn?

I'd get a whole bunch of my friends drunk and dare them to move it. Make it a bet, first team to move it where I needed it would win, then put the video on Youtube.

Good luck, my back aches already.

I used 3 4" PVC pipes....rolled around on my concrete extremely easy. Jacked up one end with a floor jack in the pallet fork "holes"...then the other. No problem at all....

I have 2 of them and am several months behind schedule.

The slab is poured and ready the Microflex on its way, I have somebody lined up to move them to the slab.

I am using SIPS for the structure and for long boring reasons they are only now been manufactured. Should be on site next week.

It may be easier if they were put on the slab, SIPS erected and then moved to their final location.

-14 tonight and I can see the propane going down...

I like the idea of the Manufacturers of the discs being interested. Concrete has to be much easier than carpet, I seem to remeber them showing a car being moved. I have options, that is the main thing.

This...

I used 3 pieces of 1 1/2" pvc to roll my 1500 garn from our driveway into my shop.Put 2x10 planks on the driveway and rolled it to the shop door.Had to make a90* turn by angleing the rollers and it went right in place. My son and I just pushed it in place.

I use 2" SCH 40 PVC to move my machining equipment around that weigh as much as 3,500 lbs.

Perfect too because they will allow for a lot of lateral movement if you need it.

I would have moved things that weigh heavier too, just have not had the opportunity.

Many thanks, so I will get them moved next week, the panels should be finished next week as well. I have a layout plan, but that is for a new thread.

IIRC Heaterman said he used 4" ABS/PVC to move the Garn's around for his installs.

Usually 2" steel. PVC will crush unless we keep 6-8 pieces under the Garn.

Thanks, sounds like using the black pipe if I need to is the way to go.
