just a question - can u glue a sidewall on a tire? Small about 1" slice on a brand new GY wrangler SR-A, got about 400 miles on it. Cut is about 2" up from the bead. Is it fooliish to think i can glue this?

No, can't be safely done. The tire is toast. Yes, the sidewall has to be flexible. Maybe you have a road hazard guarantee on the tire, many do. Patches won't work safely on the sidewall, either.
Make a tire swing out of it if you have to eat the tire with no guarantee.

+1.

I had that happen twice to new tires. It sucks, but safety for the family is worth more than the cost of a new tire. Blowouts at speed suck even more.

+1 on scrap the tire. Sidewalls flex even more than the tread, especially on radial tires.

Thanks Thats what i figured, but i gueesed i would just ask..

Yup, no harm in asking. I had that happen to me once, and I ended up buying a pair of tires so they'd match on the axle. As the saying goes, "I feel your pain." %-P

have to replace,
brand new BFG All Terrains
1000 miles cut a sidewall
replace
OUCH

You can't repair it, but why not see if you can tube it?
I hadda do that with an L60-15 I had on a Ford E150
back in the late 70s...1500 miles on the tire & I had a
coathanger penetrate the sidewall. Tire guy said "Junk"
I asked "What if I tubed it after a patch?" Okayed it &
I wore that tire out without an issue...

Can't patch it by law but can keep it for a spare

You have to be careful when tubing a tubeless tire. Pressure can build up between the tube and tire and cause problems. (At least in the old days.)

Its not recommended to tube highway tires.

But its your tire.
