Woo Hoo I FIXED IT !! Sorry I can't say how or I would look like a dumb-a$$.

It never matters how, as long as it worked.

I had a leaf blower from my father that never started. I put straight sea foam in the gas tank and primed it into the carb where I let it sit for a few days. I then filled with oil/gas and it started right up. That stuff works wonders.

It wasn't an issue that Seafoam would have been able to correct, but after all the rave reviews of it I will be sure to pick some up on my next trip to town.

OK. I was removing the top cover that revealed the whole shebang, carb, air filter etc. To my surprise (after finding the manual) If you remove the side cover where the recoil start etc. is, there is a "pre-filter" in there that was pretty well clogged. With this thing all clogged up it was drawing what air it could across the cooling fins of the engine, thus making it run away on me. luckily I got it figured out and fixed before I burnt the poor little neglected thing up. It's running great now. Did 1/2 cord yesterday with no problems. All in all can't complain for a cheap saw, only user ignorance was the issue. Anyone else here have this saw? I'd be curious about other reviews. Other than my own ignorance, I'm quite happy with it.

You have to tell us even when it is something stupid and easy. Somebody else will read and learn. Don't be ashamed, this kind of thing happens all the time. :)

Yes, sometimes it's embarassing when someone like myself who has been wrenching and fixing his own stuff for 40 years neglects to consult the owners manual. Simple logic is a bit more challenged by today's engineering and technology. There was a time in my life when if the motor in my car was failing, I could have it changed out in an afternoon. Nowadays with the engine, transmission and emissions BS looking like one big lump of aluminum and plastic, I wouldn't even know where to start. Sucks getting old.
