Wow, what a difference.
I used 1 ton of Stove Chow last year and kinda liked them, and bought a few bags for this season, same with Green Supremes. both worked good in my stove for what I would call "shoulder Season" pellets.
I had started the season burning the Prestos and they seemed really good, then I got the stove chow and Green Supremes to use as shoulder pellets, and I like them for what they are.
I picked up 4 bags of Cheat RIver at Lowe's last week and they were way under par compared to the rest,,, no where near the heat, very small pellet size, and a LOT of ash.
By far the best out of the bunch have been the Prestos, lots of heat and very, very little ash. Since these are pretty much the only brands I have access to in my area I gotta say the Prestos win hands down.

Don't know exactly where you are in NE PA , but there are other options besides the big box stores. I've burned Great Americans, Turmans, Hammers, & Barefoots all picked up from local stove shops at competitive prices. Personally I try as many brands as I can. I must say I'm jealous of your stash I wish I had the room, 60 bags is all I have room for.

Presto's are a good pellet to me. They are in my Top 3 for what is available in my area. Much better than the Green label Ligs (almost the same, just less heat).

For the price, Presto's are a good pellet. Very Dark in color and large in diameter.

I'm a little north of Scranton,,,,never really visited a stove store, bought my stove as HD along with install kit, spare parts direct from englander, and pellets either from Lowe's or HD and did the install myself.
I think subconsiously I don't want to visit any of the stove stores cuz I'l end up spending money I don't have, on something Idon't need, and have no where to put it when I get home!!!

I know what you mean, went in to Best Buy to pick up a gift card well 2 cds & a dvd later spent more than I needed to.

Does anyone know the differance between the 4 Lignetics brands? Made at different plants? Different fiber?

Different plants for the most part. I'll check the bags when I get home just to be sure.

Orange label is softwoods from Sandpoint ID.

Blue is AFAIK West Virginia

Green is AFAIK Virginia

Pres-to-logs come from all 3 locations AFAIK.

Just the shipping labels from the ton (tons).

Not every bag... ;-P

Don't pretend you're not a pellet nut!!!! I'm sure it's perfectly normal to have a toolbox full of pellet labels!! ;-P

It is... Or at least I keep telling myself that. ;-P

Didnt get to it yesterday. My 5 ton were all ran on the same shift, by the same operator, and within 22 ton of one another. Came from West Virginia.
Ton #'s 20, 24, 27, 36, and 42. Opened and tested a bag from each ton last yr. All the same length and heat output. In my testing these are a lot better than the Green labels I have. By almost 15* convection temp. They are the darkest pellet I have seen (Green labels are pretty dark, but a little lighter).

I got most all of my stash from Lowes and HD only the Hamers from a smaller outfit. I don't complain much when I'm only paying about $177 a ton. Funny thing about the lignetics line, they are the only bags I have that have the CA Prop 65 warning on them stating that they cause cancer in CA.

Our local Home depot are selling the pres to logs this season. the current price is 209 per ton. This is my first season trying them and I would have to say that I am pleased. So pleased in fact that I have purchased 4 tons of them. They are a bit ashy but as long as they are putting out signifigant heat I really don't mind. I haven't burned a drop of fuel oil yet this season so I really have something to smile about :)
