Can someone help me?? I've just experienced a loud noise on my pellet stove. Its more like a rattle and it only happens when the heat setting is on 5.
I'm not sure where it is coming from, did anyone else have this problem. It sounds like something might be need tightening.

Thank You

Should porbably post what kind of stove you have. Had similar issue with my enviromax, turned out to be
tightened combustion blower down. check your doors also.

If it is an insert, sometimes the decorative shroud around the stove can vibrate against the bricks of the fireplace. This has happened to mine a couple of times and I just need to adjust the leveling feet to get the shroud tight against the fire place bricks.

But, unless we know what stove you have and the type of install, it will be difficult to analyze the problem.

Slick has an M55.

Sorry, I have an m55 cast. I would say it has something to do with the blower, is there anyway I could fix it myself??? What would I need to do? Has anyone had the same proBlem??

Yes, Some of the cast owners have complained of noisey blowers. Enviro has an upgraded blower that fixes both the noise and an overheating issue. Contact your dealer and request a replacement.

Slick, Put the M55 cast info in your sig, So we know what you got. ;-)

Now my stove is making a rattle on heat setting 4, I took the side piece off to see if I could see what was going on. It
Looks to be coming from the fan. I'm having company this New Years Eve. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what I could do. I didn't see anything that I could tighten. Is it just time for a new fAn???

Did you even read what Jay wrote in the post above, 10 days ago???????

Okay, I get your point. I guess I was just looking for a temporary fix since I won't be able to get it fixed till after the holidays.

Yes, take the blower out of the stove. Disassemble the blower so that you can remove the squirrel cage. When it's out, fill the rubber bushing seal on the end opposite the motor with car oil (10w-30 or something similar). Re-assemble. That should get your thru until you can get the upgraded blower. Most likely the bushing is dry and at least on mine, it would cause it to squeek or squeal.

I agree with flyin, Lube it with oil and hopefully it makes it until you can get a new one from the dealer. Should be a warranty item. Contact you dealer and get the ball rolling as they might need to order it.

Hello Slick

Here is something quick to try. Liquid Wrench with Cerflon!! I got mine at the local Pep Boys Auto Parts store.

I used it on the bathroom Squirrel Cage vent fan that was noisy as heck and it has been running smooth as silk ever since!! I also used it on a Mt Vernon AE Insert Auger Motor and wow it quieted it right down! Then I used it on my Pelpro Convection blower that would not start because of a dirty bushing and wow, it starts and runs fine!!

It is a special dry lube so after you spray it on you have to wait for it to dry out a few hours, then bingo!

This spray saved me $100.00 the cost of a new convection blower!!
See >> https://www.hearth.com/econtent/index.php/forums/viewthread/83103/

Believe me, I have tried Lithium Grease Spray. It works for car doors but too goey for small motors! Then I tried WD-40 good stuff but does not last and then the sqeek comes back!

Nothing beats this Cerflon Liquid Wrench, It is super for fans and motors!! Just spray on the motor shaft parts! Great Stuff Cheap!

Hello Slick

Please let us know how your lube works out?

I just got more paper jams on our Kodak Ink Jet Printer in the last 2 weeks than all the time we had it!!

So I just broke out the Liquid Wrench with Cerflon and gave the Printer a good lube! So I will let you know how this works!
It seems that Cerflon is the best lube for metal and plastic parts like this printer! We will see!! Good luck!

From http://www.cerflon.com/ -- Check out the Chart of Temperature VS the Coeficient of Friction with a little Cerflon !! Wow!
Nice powerpoint presentation also!
CERFLON® is a ceramic reinforced fluoropolymer. Fluoropolymers are a unique class of plastics known for their excellent heat and chemical resistance. They consist of very long chains of carbon atoms either fully or partially surrounded by fluorine. The carbon-fluorine bond is one of the strongest chemical bonds known. Fluoropolymers are used in a wide range of applications in chemical process, electronics and life sciences industries.

A reinforced fluoropolymer occurs when Boron Nitride, which is stronger and tougher, is introduced into the matrix of the fluoropolymer as a “filler†material, thereby “reinforcing†the polymer. This addition of very fine particles of Boron Nitride significantly increases the durability or wear properties in both films and coatings of fluoropolymer. The increase in durability also provides a longer lasting lubrication benefit. Additionally, since Boron Nitride is, by itself, an excellent lubricating agent, it appears that the fluoropolymer acts as a binder to keep both the fluoropolymer and the Boron Nitride at surfaces that require boundary lubrication.

Went to the dealer yesterday, said they will come up Monday and probably put a new blower in. The weird part was that the
Guy never knew anything about the new blower. He said," we would know if they had a new blower for the m55 cast". He wanted to know where I heard it from. He said I suppose you heard it on one of those FORUMS. :) I'm dealing with the noise, it's not that bad.

Unfortunately for dealers that don't keep up, THOSE FORUMS tend to bring to light how lazy or uninformed the dealer is. I could see how I would hate guys coming in quoting the internet if I wanted to be a lazy dealer.

Anyways...I hope he is installing the new blower for you. But, it sure doesn't sound good from what he said.

BTW...here is a quote direct from Enviro on the new blower. Includes the part # if you want to check with your dealer to make sure you get the updated blower. THOSE FORUMS!!!

We do have a blower that is improved and moves the air better and it is included with the units that are now being built. The part # is 50-2481 convection blower and you can purchase one of these through your dealer.

Thank you very much for the info, I just might give him the # and see what he says. I would very much like the new blower, we installed a ceiling fan this summer and has helped a lot but I think a stronger blower would be even better.
