We love our Fireview, but tonight my significant other checked the lower gasket under the lid and found that there is cement missing under the gasket. The gasket is fine, but I assume that this might cause the issue that we were experiencing when we can periodically smell faint smoke that causes sinus irritation. Does anyone know what type of cement we would use to fix this? We don't have any problem controlling the fire.

I think you at be talking about the air duct gasket under the lid? There should be furnace cement bead all the way around and the gasket lays on top. The lid gasket uses glue to hold in place. Woodstock sells all the stuff you need, give them a call. Also check their site they have a maintenance section that shows you how to replace all gaskets. Also check your door gasket for leaking smoke.

He was checking the gasket that is inside the top of the stove. If you lift the lid there is a gasket on the top lid and there is also a gasket around the inside top of the stove that the lid rests on. The gasket wasn't glued down and when he lifted the gasket on the inside top of the stove he could see a section where there is no cement - you can put a screwdriver through that section which is between the outside and the inside stone. We have stove cement in tubes, but are not sure if it is the same that Woodstock uses.

Yeah, that's the air duct gasket. I would think your furnace or stove cement should work fine for a small minor repair.
