In The Woods
The day started out splitting what was on the ground by the splitter (Cherry), grabbed two loads from the Cherry cut on the last day of December, hauled it to the splitter then split & stacked it.

While I was getting the first load of Cherry I cut the other day I grabbed the chain I left hangin.

Nice Zap. Nice. Looks like a good day to be out there. Luckily we have not had a lot of the white stuff yet. Stay warm, going to cool down a little tonight and tomorrow.

Gasifier, today was windy but it looks like the snow will miss us. Have some nice beech ready for this two day cold snap, usually the Burg gets real windy, how was it?

Last night, and through the night, the wind was whippin pretty fast. Today, not bad at all. We are just now getting a little flurries.

Yeah, I can confirm that. Snow is blowing horizontal out of the NW right now after the wind clocked around.

Five bucks at my neighbors garage sale, I never take it in the woods but use it around the house.

They are handy little things zap.

Come on zap, I thought your new year resolution was to fix that dang splitter and ditch the milk crate?
Not to be picky, but in the 2nd rack there is a split that's 1/8 inch off! Lol.... As always, great pics with neat detail. :)

Depends on where the wind settles in...could be a few inches, could be a few feet.

Now we're talking, that nice straight wood of yours would be perfect for a 6 way.

Minus -15 this morning with the windchill factor but we missed the lake effect snow. :cheese: Brought some ironwood (seasoned two years) in about four days ago so it looks like later today it will become stove chow.

Mother nature keeps on giving us another week to work in the woods, looks like we'll see a warmup on Wednesday or Thursday.

I had one rack of shoulder season wood take a dive, I swear Sav paided it off. Never took my time just kept stacking without taking a step back to take a quick look to see if it was good, turned out to have a heavy lean to the back.....down she went one week after stacking!

ZAP... ever seen these things?

I've never seen that, it's over 100 miles southeast of us.

We were probably out your way too. We took a vacation this year to the Adirondacks. Went past the Buffalo farm and continued west for a long time. Got lost for a while.. no cell service.
