I know there have been posts on this, one I might have been involved with. The two recommendations I recall were to polish the hopper with furniture polish (which I did & it worked ok) or with dry graphit which I plan to do soon as I think that was the most common recommendation.

"scrubbing" the hopper with a ball of wax paper seems to help........or wipe it down real good and put on a couple coats of Johnsons Paste Wax.

Spraying some Pam in the hopper might be another option (heard that from someone on this forum)

Be careful using flammable substances. the keyword to search on this topic is 'bridging'.

+1 on the flammables. But what the OP is talking about is not really "bridging". The pellets dont "tangle" up and block the path. The path to the auger is clear. The pellets pack on the sides of the hopper and fail to slide down.

I had the problem with the Vermont pellets bridging over the auger feed.
I'm now having an issue with Turman pellets, or actually the stove. I just did the Pledge and polish this last weekend. Got home today and stove was out, pellets hung up on the sides. Also it was 9 degrees out so I don't know how long the oil fired boiler was running but I was NOT impressed.
Have looked at other (older) Quad CB1200's and it looks like the hopper angle is steeper on the older units. This could very well be a cause of the pellet hang up.
I am considering building a hopper insert that has a steeper delivery angle. Would be willing to give up a little volume for proper feeding.
Anyone other ideas?
