Anyone else have loads of ash after just 1 bag of these? Hopefully Lowes has american wood fibers left.

I don't know much about these pellets but I have had Juninta pellets the first year I hook the stove up & it didn't take long to get rid of them. I only burnt less then a 1/2 ton of those & sold the rest. I had to clean the ash from the stove 3 times a day because it was terrible. I could never find the right factory setting to burn them. I tried about every combination & finally gave up & sold the rest of the ton I had.

Yes, same problem.....more ash than usual, and much lower heat. Just a marginal shoulder season pellet, IMO.

I put a bag of Lignetics hardwood/softwood blend in last night, and the heat output jumped big time....didn't change any settings until the room got too hot....lowered stove from heat 5 to 3.

Funny you ask, as I just put my first bag of these in about an hour ago. I'll post back after I burn 'em. I only bought two bags to try them out. Since I bought them back in September I have not seen any more of these pellets anywhere.

Not the best, not the worst for my Quad Santa Fe. Yes, ash, but no clinkers or tarry buildup on the bottom of the pot. The local TSC had them at $4.99 a week ago, now has lowered them to $4.49. Heat output I'm not judging as it's just not that cold here yet.

Well this morning after burning half of a bag or so I can say there is a bit more ash than typical. However it's still less ash than the Allegheny's I like to burn. They are ridiculous with ash but I love their heat.(The Allegheny Pellets) And the North American don't burn quite as hot as the other brand. I DID like the fact that they seem to have less fines and dust. I would use them for a shoulder season pellet.

Lowes by me (Orangeburg, NY) now has these North American Pellets for 3.94/bag. I just picked up 4 bags. I like that the bags are partially clear so you can see the condition. Says premium hardwood/softwood blend.

I picked up some recently because i was nervous about running out. I do notice there is more ash than the Green Supreams i've been using. But the ash is more like cigarette ash. Heat seems ok, but first year, so take this with grain of salt.

I picked up about 12 bags of the North Americans from Home Depot this year and honestly I can say that I like them - yes they are up there on the ash scale, but this may or may not be an issue for some so I wouldn't write them off until you try them...

I have burning these North Americans in my Maxx and have found that they produce very good heat, leaves no clinkers, fly ash or crud in the burn pot, and I can still pick them up relatively cheap at the big box stores. The thing is, that I have a huge pan which probably can go weeks before I need to empty it so it's not a problem at all, also the heat exchanger tubes do not get insulated with fly ash therefore lowering temp output - I do a really good cleaning anyway every weekend, so I am getting rid of the ash anyway whether it's a little or a lot.

I can see though if you have a smaller stove, dont' clean as often, damper issues and/or if your burn-pot doesn't stay clean then certain pellets may seem 'horrible' to you may be limited to only specific 'clean and hot' burning pellets w/minor ash in your stove - it all depends.

I have a smaller pellet stove as well (Enviro Windsor) which burns these North Americans very differently, and basically what i'm trying to say is that you should look at the big picture, but take it with a grain of salt because a pellet which may not work for somebody, may work fine for you or the other way around.
