I've used about 15 bags of my ton and about 4-6 of them have had clumps the side of a softball from water damage. The plastic shrink wrap was all in good shape and since I've been using them I have had a tarp over the shrink wrap. Anyone else?

So what's HD willing to do to make it right? I haven't bought from them for a couple years, but don't let them get away with this. Pitch a big ol' hissy fit, take yer wife and the kiddies in, all bundled up an' cryin'. Make 'em give ya a free ton, or somethin'. There's a lot of suppliers out there that WILL stand behind what they sell, they ALL should be forced to.

All these boxstores suck at pellet storage they stack the pallets on top of each other, store them in the rain ect.. its real bad i guess if you buy a ton its your best bet ! If not your taking a chance! Maybe you can get the pallet they stacked on top of one another sad man sad! I have seen some crazy stuff I've seen them rip open pallets in the pouring rain I've seen them leave them outside in the rain it's just crazy

just one more reason to buy at a independent local pellet house, they only deal in pellets and know how to handle the skids. If you feel there prices are to high just buy at spring sale time, you'll get a much better pellet at a nice price, for me it was Cubex at $235 a ton, sweet price and very hot burn.

i had some water damage on about 15 bags from one ton last year ( not a borg)...i stopped by and the guy said swap em out...no questions asked.

I've burned a lot of firesides. I have seen bags that have gotten wet and I've helped friends open tons and stack them inside. The bags are strong but do have holes punched in them. And the Tons have all been sealed tight with heavy plastic.

When and where did you buy these?
Where did you store them?
Was the plastic wet between the bags?

I used to be OCD about any pellets stored outside at a box store, but I've come to this. If the pellets are stored outside and the factory wrap is not compromised, I'll buy them. Lowes here, moves them inside once they are open or to open them. Home Depot not so much. If the HD pellets are opened and outside, I ask if I can open a new pallet, because the open ones always have wetness on the bags. They never say no. It they did, I'd walk.

Well if it didnt take so much to get them home I'd think about returning them. Had to borrow a truck, and also a kubota to unload em. $199/ton. The only "pellet" only store around here is dysarts, and they store them outside also. Energex $4.99/bag I'll continue on and see how many more are like that. At least there frozen and easy to spot.

PS the factory wrap wasnt compromised and the problem bags didnt appear until 3-4 layers in.

Bought a ton of Ultras @ Biddeford Home Depot, when I unloaded them and put them in my celler one bag had burst because of water. I returned it no problem and was told if any other bags found damaged as I use them no problem to return them. I will still have some left for next season, I hope they remember me.
