With the forecast saying single digits tonight. I loaded up the M55 with my first bag of oakies. Holy heat. I was heating the house on setting 3. I turned it down to 2. Very nice.

20 below to 30 below with the wind tonite.....pansey...lol....!!!!

Yeah, I like winter. But screw that.

8.7 °F here the last I checked. A bit brisk, good for what ails ya, or is that what ails ya. Don't know I get confused about that.

As much as I love the North Maine Woods, hearing that makes me kinda glad I'm in Central Maine. 12 here right now.

Okies for me tonight too! Setting #2 and
bro and I are in t shirts. Wanna make
some Margaritas and dump some sand
on the living room floor. Woooohooo.

to be fair, i don't think either big ruckus or me will be out in the wind tonight. LOL!

but it is about 4 right now. heading for -5 w/o wind chill.

i can only imagine how cold and frustrated i would be right now if i were heating w/ oil.
i will definitely have a baseline on the mwp blend after this winter. burning them exclusively.

How are the MWP's burning?

i like them fine. but i don't have anything to compare to.
i read that many think they have excessive ash.
and i do vac everyday. but that's because i just started being an everyday cleaner from the start.
but i can see that yes, there is a fair bit of fly ash in the firebox every day.
i am warm though even at 10 below. and the fines are low and no clinkers.
when i run on low, there isn't a terrible build up in the burn pot either.

at this price delivered (i have no truck and local prices are higher) i will definitely be burning them again next year.
i am going to be on the lookout for a single ton of softies for less than $250 though. more than that and it just doesn't seem to make sense to me.

I broke into my Hamer's stash for tonight.

19 degrees here. I turned the thermostat up to 80.

I wish I did this 5 years ago. It's nice not being cold anymore.

35 in Tennessee. Hey, that's cold too......

3 deg here in upstate NY right now. This is my first year with pellet heat and all I can say it WOW! I love this! I am loving my stoves and I dont have to keep the house 65 and spend $600.00 a month with the oil man! Wo Hoo!!

Same here! Almost tossed in the cubex, But The Hamers were easier to get to. Dang shoulder pellets were in the way! :bug:

I tell you those MWP are burning great in my PF100 furnace. I think it could get down to -50 and would not matter. Set that thermostate and it stays at that setting no matter how cold it gets.... that things an animal !!!

My house is 2533 square feet, with a harmon PF-100 and if I set it to 70 degrees the stove runs non-stop right now. It's in the teens. Then again I also have a HUGE portion of my house with 30 foot cathedral ceilings. At this rate that room stays at 68 degrees

Well i think that these funaces can go up to 100,000 btu's. The furnace should be cable of easly handling your sqare feet, i think it's those MONSTER ceiling hieghts thats eating up the heat. BTW what do you have your feed rate set at ? You should move it up to 6 it will back itself down when it needs to automaticly.

+1 - Here in MD it was single digits last night. Dumped in some Hamers and woke up to 71 degrees. Holy shat. I rolled back the temp on my Harman to 67 but I guess the Hamers were throwing off the heat.

13 Degrees here this morning, didn't notice as it was 74 inside. I love the pellet stove, and being a pellet pig, oink oink. :)

It was 5 degrees when I got up this morning. The St.Croix was on the lowest setting and it was a comfortable 65 degrees in the house. I just turned up to 2.

Where in MD can you get those pellets? I'm looking for something other than what Home Depot offers. I'm in South eastern PA and havent found super premium pellets. I actually work in Maryland so I figure i can go most places there too for some real good stuff

It was 13 degrees when I woke up this morning. I've been burning Cubex that was purchased last month and picked up another .5 ton yesterday.

I set it to Room Temp at 72 last night, which caused the Harman 61A to create some serious heat. The temp in my 6 year old 2300 sq foot house was 74-76. 69 in the bedroom. I might have to lower the temp next time we go into the single digits.

Refilled the hopper at 10pm yesterday. I had to refill the hopper with another bag of Cubex at 6am. Having the stove set to room temp eats up a lot more pellets. The stove is now set to stove temp on #2. Feed rate always stays on about 3.25.

I love my pellet stove! My heating system would've be sucking down some serious oil to keep the house at this temp if it weren't for my pellet stove. Basement is at 55, but I can live without needing to spend time down there.

How many bags of pellets did everyone go through during last nights frigid temperatures?

That's not cold. We run around doing chores in short sleeves at that temperature. Add another 5 degrees, and we'd be in t-shirts.
