Been looking around Eastern Long Island at the Pellet prices. So far:

Lowes in Medford: Green Supremes at $5.47 a bag
Home Despot in Shirley: AWF at $5.47
Sams Club in Medford: Penningtons at $5.47
Local mom and pop shops: Okies at $7.20 a bag, and everything else anywhere from $5.75 to $9 a bag.

I am gonna wait a little to add to my stash at these prices.

Vinny-
It seems here on the island we take a beating when you see what others are paying around the states.
Next year I plan on buying early to help keep the cost down.

Agway are you out by riverhead did not think they were on the island well good luck shopping i heard in april is a good time to buy but i will keep looking at the prices and then sock up enjoy your stove I love mine it works great and no oil used

Shop around in the spring. Here on Long Island there aren't many deals to be had. The cost to get pellets on the Island drives up the cost and the overhead of the dealers is higher on the Island. Bravo Window and Door where you picked up the Great American Pellets always carries quality brands and is price competitive. I try not to deal with the Big Box stores. I rather buy local and support the local merchants even if it costs me a few extra dollars.

Yeah, a lot of things are more expensive here in Long Island. When I talked to woodpellets.com about delivery, they said moving the pellets through the city into Long Island really drives up the drive. And I have seen commercial trucks charged hundreds of dollars to go through the bridges and tunnels.

Still, last year prices dipped in the end of January, early February. Lowes had $3.74 per bag of some kind of pellet that was ok. Hopefully it happens again this year. And the big box stores seem to be matching each other.

THEY ALL WILL COME DOWN, it seems like everyone has them all the box stores and its a warm winter

sams club has them cheaper and for now pick up these lil dusty i hear they are cheap but sometimes cheap is cheap
