I have to admit...I may have unfairly judged my Green Supreme's!! Don't know why, but at level #3, I use way less pellets than I use burning Somerset's at level three!! So although I have to turn the stove up higher with Green's, I think in the long run, They may be a decent pellet.

Could it be that since the Green's are a longer pellet...Less get fed into the pot??

Bingo. The auger runs the same at level 3 for any pellet, so usage is then determined by how many pellets fall on each turn of the auger....longer pellets = less each turn.

But, you probably will get less heat too.

Were you able to burn Green Supremes on premium pellet setting?

I didn't find the Green Supremes to be a bad pellet either, but they seemed to burn better on the regular pellet setting.

My favorite pellet so far is AWF, for they burn hotter, with less ash, and cleaner glass than the Green Supremes (these burn well at premium pellet setting).

With the hotter than normal weather I haven't yet tried my Somerset stash.

They definitely are not the hottest pellet I have burned.... But they are one of the cleanest. The firepot stays spotless and amount of ash in firebox seems far, far less.

I haven't burned them on a cold day, so my opinion is useless, But My wife has had me sweating all day today burning the Green's!!

Been burning them all season and very satisfied. Not the hottest, but a real good all around pellet that burns real clean.

$3.05!!!!! holly molly, batman, that's a bargain for such a clean burning, nice flame pellet.

My mistake. I thought that was from a deal I had mentioned.

Someone near Tiffin that stated that price... That was ridiculous pricing...... Maybe Mr Cob?? He is near Tiffin.

Even if they are not the greatest pellet for you. At $150 a ton, its hard to pass them up. There perfect for Shoulders. At that price, I would buy 5 ton and be set for shoulder season for yrs..... Good average sized pellet and they smell pretty good. (Old Dominion's I got smell fantastic, Weird to smell them? I know, but thats part of the addiction)

Probably was Mr Cobb...

I like the way they smell also, But with a little salt, pepper and hot sauce, They make an awesome appetizer!! I can send you the recipe??

Green Supremes were my first.....they will always hold a special place in my heart!

I have nothing bad to say about this years Green Supremes, they do seem to leave a very light ash buildup (not really a clinker) in my little stove, but my Maxx is able to keep the burnpot clean with these. Everybody always just labels these a 'good shoulder pellets', I'm heating my house with them and i'm not exactly cranking the heat level up, but then again this whole Winter seems to be one long 'shoulder season' anyway.

Also, as stated earlier at less than 200.00/ton how can you go wrong?

When are you guys/gals purchasing these at such a discount, and at what stores?

Got mine at Lowes in Tiffin, Ohio. It was a contractor's special @ $3.05 per bag! They would not give the 5% discount for using my Lowes card and the 10% coupon that I got from the post office was expired.

I got mine at TSC in Barkhamsted, about 2 miles from my house. I am so far pleased with some of the offerings they've had: Green Supreme, Hardwood Heat, MWP. Gives me a good variety to try and can't beat the convenience. No problem with multiple trips in my Subaru!

I'm trying to figure out if there is a sale season with the box stores, for I know premium pellets are spring for good pricing.

Very smart shopper are you.

Thanks

This was at the beginning of December!!

Walked into my local Hardware store the other day for something else and saw a pallet of Green Supreme's,, they were asking $6.49 a bag,, They aren't a bad pellet but not a $6 plus pellet.

Jon

I got all my GS from the local Lowes last Summer for I think $3.94/bag. I wouldn't spend over $5.00/bag for these since you can get a good price during the Summer months. You think $6.49/bag is crazy, my local supermarket is trying to sell warm fronts (NEWP) for $6.99/bag! which are basically the same thing.
