Company sent me to Bangor this week, so I went to Dysarts for my obligatory dinner when I noticed they were selling various bags of pellets for $4.99 a bag. They had Granule LGs, Corinths, Maine Woods, Northeast, never heard of these and one other name I wasn't familiar with. So I threw 20 bags of LGs in the PU for $99.80. Not bad considering woodpellets.com is charging $5.48 a bag plus delivery for LGs. Gotta come back in 3 weeks, maybe grab another 20 bags seeing as the company is paying for gas. I used LGs last year and loved'em. Softwood spruce I believe.

I tried a bag of northeast last week and they were very ashy and did not produce very good heat...in my stove anyway...may work well for others. I may grab a few bags of the LGs at that price. Same price per ton?

I burned quite a lot of Northeast before they had the fire. I thought they were a pretty good pellet. I'm kind of surprised that they weren't very hot and had a lot of ash. They were better than average before, surprising as they have a brand new state of the art facility.

Last night I couldn't just drive past the Dysarts' exit without stopping by really quick. I bought a bag of each brand they were selling. Came home with Energex, Granules LG, Corinth, Northeast, and MWP. Yes, my pellet addicition is in full gear and it's only my first season.
