Thought I'd post a couple pics of the wood area as is sits today just for fun. Got lots of maple to work through...

Funny, the internets weren't even invented when my splitter was made!

Nice pile of wood wxrt. Take care of a splitter and they last a long time, hold their value pretty good as well. :)

You should take advanatage of the season without snow... Start the splitter up and you'll be on your way to some future btu's! Be sure to show the results of all this wood split and stacked.

Nice setup. Looks like a pretty spot to process wood.

The splitter is a bit slow but still runs strong. It's been in the family only a few years less than I have! It gets it's yearly oil change whether it needs it or not!

I've taken advantage of this "winter" for sure. Cutting, splitting, gathering storm damage, you name it.

I wish I had pics from last year when the area was a 12'x12' woodpile surrounded by diglyweeds.

Wow, that looks great. How much wood is that. If my processing area were that large; I'd have to find me a new wife. (I know, what am I waiting for?)

Thats great stuff bro.

I have the itch so bad as well.
I commandeered about a 20' by 60' section in the back yard and its now spilling over into the driveway!

I figure I have about 5+ cords cut/split/stacked and another 2-3 bucked ready to split. My parents had a bunch of trees taken down this past summer waiting in a pile for me to buck and split too - another 4+ cords there. Then, more standing dead ash trees good for another 2 cords. I think I will be busy (and set) for a little while!

Great set up.
You definitely have some splitting to do. You can split later, keep the rounds coming :)
The splitter has lasted this long, should last another few generations.
You can always speed it up when the engine & pump need repair, the tough frame design will last forever.
Great pictures. even better weather.
Now get to work, we need more pictures LOL

That's what I call 'not playin around' when it comes to gettin' some firewood ready for the upcoming years.

The goal is to have so much firewood when company comes over they ask to go out and 'look at the wood pile', take pics, post 'em up on facebook, tell you that you have issues, laugh at you when there's a warmer than normal winter, tell ya you have too much wood and that you'll never burn it all, yada yada yada :)

Looks like you maybe do like we do. Stack it up during the winter months and then split in the spring. Looks like a good processing area too.

You know, I have a lot of trouble with that as I have gotten older. I spend more time sittin' lookin' at, and admiring my stacks than I do gettin' it done. Makes me happy though ;-P

After what you went through it is probably good that you are just sitting looking at them, right now anyway. I did see a post that you were at it a little...good that you are on the mend.

Thanks LP. And yes, with the help of my son, remarkably, at 7 months, I am doing pretty well. I am now cutting, splitting, and stacking. I have had to go at it really slowly, take lots of breaks, know my limitations, and deal with the pain, but I really think it is good re-hab. Amazingly, the doctor I have (who I think was a miracle) does not believe in any any other re-hab than your normal activities. So that is what I am trying to do, and although it hurts, It is helping. Anyway, I figure life isn't worth much if you can't do the things you want to do, so I am back at it as best I can. Besides, if Dennis can do it, I can do it!
I am also going to trade my ATV in on a Polaris Razor side by side, with role cage, seat belts, and doors, and go back to that blessed hill that damn near killed me and try it again this coming summer. Wish me luck
