and 'harvested' some seasoned firewood. :)

Three firewood racks on the front porch are filled as is the inside rack.

I guess I'm ready - winter may finally be here. It was in the low 50's today - tomorrow is going to be a different story. :)

Yep, similar forecast here with possibly a little lake enhancement. Beautiful day to stock some wood close by & fill the rack for the furnace. I'm actually looking forward to a little winter for a change. May actually have to run a full out fire for a few days. Enjoy the warmth Shari, I'll probably be glad to have an indoor job for a change lol. A C

Reports are very sketchy here. Some calling for 6-8", other only 2-3". But yes, looks like the balmy January weather will come to a screeching halt tomorrow. Oh well, we knew it had to end sometime.

Right there with ya. I went to Menards tonight to buy some tarps for the stacks and my split pile. I finally stacked up the lawn furniture and such in the back yard yesterday. I feel like I live in Mississippi...a few inches of snow and I am battening down the hatches. Sorry Mississippi guys.

Well you knew winter would arrive some time :)

Another one heading my awy too. 6 - 11"
Just filled the wood box, good for over a week.

Still waiting for snow here....send some my way so I can justify spending all that $$$ on the new snowblower....PLEASE !

Was supposed to wake up to 2-6", but doesn't look like quite 2" yet, perhaps a little left to go, then rain it seems. Need to go clear the skating pond. Cheers!

Slush on the skating pond is the worst. I hope you get it cleared before it freezes. I think the ponds over in the woods will be slushed over then frozen - it will be rough skating here.

Weather reports here in eastern pa state that highs will be in the low 30's this weekend, but into the 40' again by next week.

That's my fault... I bought a snowplow tractor and a salt spreader this year, put back 4 cords of wood, and bought a generator. I'm prepared for the zombie apocalypse, but... no snow.

It will be here this afternoon! (This is a sissy winter) :)

Might be my fault as well, I bought a wood stove. :-/

I'll be "harvesting" off the front porch for a few more days. :cheese:
Whenever that is gone, it'll be time for a "harvest" of a 1/2 cord from the shed.
Time to put the quick-connect plow back on the tractor too. Snow forecast keeps changing, but we have wood, plow, and hot cocoa/coffee. Gooder to go.

Supposed to get a little of the white stuff down here as well. Will give me a reason to refire the Jotul. Not having an inside fire in nearly a week during January is enough to give even a Southerner withdrawels.

You only gonna burn 8 cord instead of 12 this year?

Maybe less. I am at 3 now and that should put me 6 for the year. Heck there where a few weeks last year that I would go through close to a cord in a week. (Heavy winds)

Today was mostly rain with some snow mixed in. Forecast 2-6" tonight and tomorrow. We'll see. There is still mud out there.

Pretty yucky weather. Maybe you need to put your snow plow on to give Mother Nature a hint, it is supposed to be winter :)
Back to 15° today here & snowing..

Dave, it takes only a few minutes to put it on so if need be, it will go on. Otherwise, I may go out and cut more wood. I'll leave the snow plowing to you. lol

I'm thinking the same thing sav. I need some cold weather to freeze the ground. Of course, with the snow flurries we are getting now won't be long and will show Dave how to cut wood in the snow! Lol.....:)

Temperature finally falling. Below freezing now and should stay well below for the next few days at least. I don't mind cutting wood with some snow but if it gets deep, I'll just enjoy burning it.

we got around 2" last night in central PA.....2" of RAIN, that is.......starting to get depressing around here.....plenty of swampland and hey, saw some mosquitoes out the other day!!!
