I thought I would also give an update as one person posted earlier that he never hears any thing on this new line of stoves from Vogelzang.
Coldest night of the year for me last night. Got down to 9 degrees but no wind.
This stove is about 2.2 Cubic foot in size its rated to heat 2200 square foot but I am asking more from it as its in my basement in the back half as the front half of my basement is my garage with garage doors. I am in the process of making a family room down there but still need to put up an insulated wall as a divider but I do have some what of a barrier about half way across keeping some of the heat in the back part using some shelving and wardrobe cabinet and an upright freezer provides a separation somewhat.
The garage doors are not insulted so that end of the basement is pretty leaky as in cold air comes in but the door is sealed pretty good so to minimize cold air down there at that end.
The size of the basement is around 1600 square foot as not the entire house is under basement. The upstairs is 1900 sqft .
The house is a ranch style and was built in the late 60's I have new energy efficient windows and about 15 years ago I put extra blown in insulation in the attic for a total of 18" depth at the time. Walls have same insulation that was put in when the house was built in the late 1960's.
So with it 9 degrees last night I woke up at 7 am house was 70 degrees in the main central area of the house. Plenty of coals in the stove almost too much.
I am a happy camper as last year my baseboard electric heat was getting my electric bill up around 500 dollars a month in the coldest part of the winter. So far this winter bill is around $200 so far. Family of 5 and all electric house. I got this stove for $699 at a Menards sale.
