So we have recently had a brand new Jotul 450 Kennebec insert installed. So far I have two complaints:
1. The door handle that comes with the stove just simply slides on and off the door peg! Why not a set screw!?? If they were concerned with the handle becoming too hot, make it larger! Change it to wood! Although this is a small inconvenience, the handle is always floating around somewhere on the hearth. It would be nice if Jotul made a steel hangar for the handle. It could hang from the top of the surround, off to the side, and the handle could in turn hang from it. Oh well.
2. Also, does anyone have any good techniques for getting the creosote off the glass? I tried cleaning with newspapers dipped in white vinegar and then ash, but the results were minimal.
Thanks for the suggestions!
