Hello! After much research I think the stove for us is the RAIS Classic 106. On their website I found a lot of really good information BUT...
If we add a heat sheild to the call behind the stove (we don't have sidewalls to contend with) can we reduce the clearance from the wall to the back of the stove from 11"? They only give an 11" clearance recommendation but do not mention anywhere if you can reduce this by adding a sheild to the combustable wall behind.
We love this stove! I can bake AND grill it says! Add a screen and it becomes a fire place!
?? Do you know how long the stove will burn? Hoping it will burn 8-10 hours? at least through the night?
?? Also want to know if this stove is TOO much for our small 850 sq ft home in Crested Butte?? (where it gets to -35 at times in the winter, ofen -20 and winter lasts about 6 months - already hints of fall color around
We are going to put the stove in the living/kitchen handout area (open floor plan) - this room is roughly 17 x 30. Also the stove will be near the back bed/bath room AND the stairwell! It is a great spot I think for heating the whole house, we will also install registers in the ceiling to help the heat reach the one upstairs bed and bath.
My plan is to TURN OFF THE GAS heat (ok, turn it WAY DOWN).
Any suggestions recommendation concerns etc .... WE WANT TO KNOW
