I'm surprised at this time of the year that anyone still has uglies left. Usually we burn them early in the fall and, of course, not for a night load.

..........i heard the big uglies try hotter :red: ......sorry couldn't resist.

we love uglies over here. still have plently left.

i tend to split them smaller now. dry out faster and also much easier to load into the stove.

I burned them early but put them on top of the stack and after a full topping of the stack i had to go down and uncover the whole stack when i wanted to burn them.

I love uglies. They get me through the days when I'm home and need a low burn. They keep the house warm on a semi mild day when I don't need a full load. They give a decent coal bed for quick restarts on days like that.

I'm a fan, and I love saving the really good stuff for when it's needed :)

I still have a bin almost like ecocavalier02's full of uglies, plus a bunch that is holding down what is left of my OSB covers on one smaller wood stack (maybe 5 cords)... the only one that didn't blow away. That is AFTER I hauled a TON of that stuff in the Jeeps when I went out 4x4ing/camping.

I always read about uglies, does anyone have pictures of any uglies? The only uglies I know are the girls my brother dates.

Some uglies, odds & ends, milling scrap & branch stubs underneath. I had about 3 p/u loads worth this year

Am finally burning the last of it this week.

Ahh now I see what uglies are. Still not as ugly as some of the girls my brother has dated. The only similarity is that both UGLIES burn. hahahahah.

I like chunks! They allow a good airflow next to a split, I enjoy burning them, those short rounds also
