It is not unheard of to have more than 100° of spread. Yesterday morning we woke up to -22°F. Went off to work with a nice roaring fire. I got home to just a few coals in the stove so I separated them and cleaned out the ashes. Got the house up to 76° in no time. Not quite a 100° spread, but 89° none the less.

The wife complained that she couldn't keep the house above 70° through the day. I gave her a hard time claiming pilot error but the buildup of ashes was partly to blame.

Got to -18 °F and house temp at 5:50 am was 73 °F
Last reload was at 9:30 pm.

It went up to 73 & is staying there so far. Interesting info. I will tell the hub when he gets home. I'm sure he could get it higher, but I'm still learning. Vicky
