This year is my first year with pellet heat. I got my insert in the middle of October and then bought a free standing stove for downstairs. Here is what I have learned so far.

1.) Pellet heat is great!! For once, I am nice and toasty warm and the oil man is not getting rich off me.

2.) A clean stove is a happy, safe and warm stove! I do a good cleaning once a week on both stoves and so far (knock on wood) I have had no problems.

3.) This spring when the pellet sales start, I will stock up on a better quality pellet than what I am burning now.

4.) All pellets are not created equal! I have been trying different brands and have found some are ashy, some make big clinkers and some burn nice and hot!

5.) This forum and its members are a great bunch who offer great advice!

6.) I love my pellet stoves!

7.) I am lucky to have a dealer who really strives for great customer service!

I'm sure I will learn more as time goes by but for now I would like to thank everyone who has answered my questions and those who have sent me pm's. I am lucky to have found this little corner of the web! Thanks Everyone!

There ya go Rocco.

If I may I'd like to suggest that as the first part of #2 above that you add after happy and before stove the following ", safe, and warm " .

SmokeyTheBear,

8.) All grammar errors will be pointed out to you :D

Enjoy it!

My 4th year into pellets and I'm still learning things!

I agree as this is my first season also. This forum was very helpful with my purchase of the Steve and pellets.

All good things Rocco...

After several seasons, you will still be learning.

I know I am... But I am a little slow ;) .

A couple things that I have learned:

- Don't load pellets in just your undies!!

- The door gets very hot, Don't try to open it while the stove is in operation without a pot holder.

- Metal is very sharp...Be very very careful when cleaning the glass

- Must learn to drink more expensive beer while staring at my pellet stove.

Learned a lot in my first year!

Save the cheap stuff for when dex stops by. ;)

It was very convienent, better than the add on I installed.

IE-9 has a built in that works like the old forums.

Love my stove ..
