Feeling the Heat

Broke open a ton of Hamer's last night, from 3 ton I bought back in October of 2009. Let me just say, they are crazy hot. I dug this ton out from behind my stash since it was to get cold for a while at nights. I said to my wife today, these things almost scare me for how hot they are. These are definitly the hottest pellets I have ever had. While cleaning a half ton of them today, they actually had a stink bug nest, down inside the ton of them. They didn't infest into any of the bags, they just had a nice nest down in there. There was probally 200 or so. Being cold out in the garage, I did have the garage heated today to clean pellets, but being that cold, they weren't moving to fast. I had time to get the shop vac and suck mostly all of them up. They did stink pretty good though. Suppose to get down in the low teens to single digits tonight. Nice to now that I will be SUPER warm tonight.

I am burning Hamer's right now.

I've bought three tons of them. Have burned almost half that many. I love them, compared to others, they did better overall...However...They are pricey. Bought two tons mid Oct
for $255 each ton. In December they were $273. This is my pickup cost. I'm still better off, even at that price, than distant purchases for other brands, especially as they do burn so well. I hope to score a 5 ton or so purchase in the spring if the price drops a wee bit.

how do the Hamers compare with Barefoots ???

i understand every stove burns differantly but was
just curious to what people have found.

I can't help you out here, I've never tried Barefoots before.

i like hamers also ..very good pellet

I have the Hamer pellets from the Elkin plant also. Are the pellets from the Mt. Hope plant, Hamer's Hot Ones also or are they produced under a different name brand like the Hardwood Heat pellets which are rebagged Hamer's.

Burning Elkin Hamers also...smokin' hot!

can't find them anywhere around me ( that I know of)

You could try your local Tractor Supply. They are sold as Hardwood Heat.

So far I love the Hardwood Heats. Out of all the brands I've burned so far this season in my stove, these have been the best. Great heat, a very bright flame, and it takes a long time for my glass to get dirty.
