I see alot of talk about buffer tanks. I am ssuming they are not the same as storage tanks. Can someone tell me what they are and why they are necessary.
 
Buffer tank is term for small storage tank. They are typically used for fossil fuel systems to prevent them from short cycling. If you have thermal storage you have one big freaking "buffer tank"
