Finally broke down and bought an Ash Vac today.

My buddy (forum member barnyard840x) and I went to Menards today to pick up a ton of Somersets while they were still on sale (for him). First I have to say the roads were terrible. But we had a good time and made it home safe. (5 hrs later)

While there I picked up a few needed things.... Then I seen the Ash Vac. Didnt grab it at 1st. I held back. But I have been bringing my smaller Shop-vac from the upstairs to the downstairs (Quad to Fahrenheit) so I decided to buy one that I can keep upstairs.

Only used it for a little bit on the Quad. Has a lot more suction than I thought. Dual filters and an aluminum hose.

My only complaint thus far....The hose is to short. But other than that. It was pretty cheap and works well.

Looks much better than a Blue Shop-vac sittin upstairs.

Always said I would never have one (unless I won it), but I broke down tonight. ;-P

I have that exact Cleva vac. I bought it on Amazon for about $85 in November and it's done a great job so far.

Got the same thing, branded as a Breckwell from Costco. It works good. I am happy with it.

Paid about $5 less... So sounds about right.

Pretty happy with it. Looks good enough to keep next to stove. But I do see myself getting a longer hose.

Glad others have had good luck with it. I had a buddy buy one from the same place for about $50. But it had a rod that knocked the filter to clean it.

This one cost a little more, but it looks better and seems quiter than his (although its still louder than my Shop-vac).

I will update this thread with my results and findings. But so far....I like it.. Yep. You heard it here 1st. I have an Ash Vac and I like it.. ;-P

Bought one for myself at Christmas. Works pretty good. Could use more suction, but decent for the money. I used a shop vac before that.

My wife bought one when we installed the stove. She is a clean freak, so it had to be an ash vacuum to be sure that it would not blow soot around.

I bought the same one at Sears, on sale this fall for $55. CDN (finally bought something cheaper than you guys in the states!). It works well but remember to clean the filter regularly. Take it out side and unscrew the filter and cage and bang it againts a tree until no more soot comes out, It works best with a clean filter.

I just bought the same thing yesterday for a grand total of $5.24 including sales tax. Yes, it's even brand new and unused. I found it at a local Habitat for Humanity ReStore. The only problem is.... the canister is missing (I bought it knowing that). Now I need to figure out where to find a replacement....

Sounds like you got a deal....

metal 5 gallon pail?

Smoke is right....

Thats about all it is. It has 3 clamps and a hole for the hose... But if you called them, I am sure the can is prob the cheap part. Its the top and filters that add value. Worth a shot?

Calling them is probably the first thing I'll do tomorrow and then see where it goes from there.

The worst absolute piece of shidt I have ever wasted money on. Bought one a year ago from sears. First use I was deeply disappointed with it's suction...which rapidly diminishes as you use it and the filtre plugs up. The second time I went to use it the damnd thing was deader than a door nail, that's right DEAD. Such a hunk of crap I never bothered going after warranty! GOOD LUCK...you are going to need it!

Nice dex, I have been waiting for my local TSC to put them on sale. I missed the $79 sale they had in the fall.

Keep us posted.

I've bit my tongue for a day now.

Fix the damn title.

I don't care about your as vac.

Ours is similar to that one also.

bonus: It included the pellet stove kit that said on the box that the kit was not included.

Failed on my first try. They said they would need to special order the canister from China and after shipping it'd cost more than a new vacuum. Might have to resort to the MacGyver solution.
