Hi Gang
Woke up this morning (2 degrees outside ) to a cold house. Control panel on the Mt Vernon read auger jammed. I stuck a big fork up the feed pipe and a bunch of pellets came falling down. I hit retry and I could hear the augers grinding, but no pellets came falling down.
I'm using Oakies, so they're not too long. Does anyone know how to clear a jam on a Mt Vernon, or should I just call the dealer? It's still under warranty.

Thanks!

the auger does come out pretty easily. unhook the 2 plugs and remove I think 3 bolts and auger will slide out. All can b done thru the right side access panel

Thanks for the reply - I should have mentioned that I have the insert, not the stand alone model, so getting the auger out is a bit more of a challenge.

Does anyome know if vacuuming out the pellets from the hopper would clear the jam? If unjamming the auger requires the removal of the auger, I think I will just let the dealer do it, as it is under warranty.

The Mt. Vernon uses an optical sensor to "see" the movement of the auger. If the sensor gets dirty, it will report an auger jam. You may want to check that.
