Flue brush from Lowes

i have one, works pretty good

Looks about like the one I have, can't remember where I got it, know it wasn't Lowes, they didn't have 4" the day I needed one.

Consider the "Lint Eater"...it works VERY well on pellet vent pipe, and has an attachment to hook an ash vac to it while the brush is going through the pipe. Quite a few forum members have them:

I push the hose from my shop vac up the pipe right behind the brush, pull it back when I pull the brush back. But I'm cheap.

My local Lowes sells the linteater kit in the appliance section. it is well worth it!

Put it on a drill and it will "screw" it's way up.

I clean my dryer vent hose a couple times a year.It goes from the garage to under the house then back out thru the wall.Also I have a Cyclone Rake that I ues for leaf pick-up.I have a 15 ft hose for hard to reach places,sometimes it will clog so I use the Lint Eater to unclog the hose...

I run mine in and pull it back while still running forward run it in again then add another rod and do same till I get to top. No problem pulling it out while running, and rods really tighten to boot.
Oh did my outside from outside tee, and when you run it in and start pulling it back it really brings ash out so you might put a bucket or something to catch it.

X100 on Lint-eater. Works great on Pellet vent and Dryer vent.

Or look at the Soot-eater for pellet stoves. I prefer the lint-eater because of the accessories that come with it. I have a Soot-eater for the Woodstove. Works great to. Just prefer the lint-eater for pellet.

I've been thinking about getting one of these too. The one advantage I see to the "sooteater" versions are that the head looks like more of a nylon whip than the stiff bristle brush that could scratch the smooth liner. I'm concerned that after numerous cleanings, scratches will begin to catch soot and cause more buildup. Thus far, I'm just suckin' with my Toro leafblower.

Oh, I see, sorta, I guess. My dryer don't have a vent, it's a couple of ropes strung out between some trees. And as far as leaf pickup goes, well, they fall down by themselves, then the wind blows 'em away, or not.

Otherwise, I have the brush. I don't know the brand, but from Lowes. Works great on the exhaust with the drill setup!

Does the liner go all the way to the top? ? Did you clean the bottom 8 ft or the top 8 ft? ?

The cap is a vital part that accumulates a lot of ash and can plug a system without you knowing. I just cleaned an insert with a 15 ft 4" liner and the accumulation was worse at the top and the cap.

I would make sure to clean the entire length of vent. Some only do it yearly. I prefer after every ton. Everyones idea of clean is different.

The rods within my Lint-eater kit are flexible enough to clean my dryer vent. Which has two 45*'s and a 90*. Does it with ease. As long as the drill is spinning, it feels like the vent has Zero bends in it.....
