Feeling the Heat

I was wondering if I could set a 30nc in my fireplace with side and rear heat shields and a blower. My fireplace is 36" in width and 31" in height so the height will be tight. I would have this as a backup stove when it gets cold and my Fireview can not keep up. I like the large firebox vs going with a smaller firebox on an insert. Or do you think since this is a second stove just go with the insert and feed it more often. I would love to put in a new Progressive or another Fireview but I don't want to spend that much $ on a second stove that will not be used to much.

Thanks

Sounds like a bit of overkill if just a backup stove. Maybe go for a larger primary stove instead?

No problem, I did and I love it. My firplace dimemsions are the same as yours. go for it

Rottiman, Nice looking hearth and stove install. Reminds me of Battleaxes.

Nice looking install. How is that working for you? Do the bricks absorb alot of the heat?

A larger stove would cost the same as adding a 30 NC. The Fireview works great on all but the coldest days. My house does need to be sealed and insulated better.
