we have been looking and looking for a wood cookstove. I found a savoy model, says it's slightly used and wants $1,000. for it. Does anyone have one and do you like it?

I haven't heard of them, but it looks like an interesting company. They appear to have been building stoves for a long, long time. The Savoy model has been in production since 1933! I would think that they have got it refined down to a science by now. Their Queen Cook is also a fascinating revival item.
If the stove is in good condition and has not been overfired, cracked or abused, I would think $1000 is a good price.

A sad thing happened in New Brunswick last week. The Enterprise Fawcett foundry was destroyed by fire. we owned an 1930's vintage Enterprise wood cook stove and it was amazing. We wish we still had it.
