54 degrees and raining right now, suppose to get down to upper 40's tonight. not burning right now but may start one up this evening!

Wow, we've been sunny most of the day. At 67 it was a bit cooler than yesterday, but it was a good day for yard work. Oh well. Nothing like the old Puget Sound convergence zone to dampen a day, eh? Looks like the sun has made it your way now and sunny is the forecast for tomorrow. Cmon summer, bring it on!

Yeah, we fineally got some sun late in the afternoon, think we hit a high of 63ish or so, was raining real hard this morning, it actually woke me up around 4AM, started hard again mid morning. Sunny and nice right now and 61 at 7:30PM

I sure wish it would cool down here, Think we were in the mid 90's here and very humid, I hate hot weather love to see fall of the year come to my part of the woods my favorite time of the year,

Had an open door burn yesterday just to help burn off the stove polish. Figure It would be easier to do with the windows open then waiting till I actually need the heat and get the fumes...

Well.. that and after cleaning my stove, I missed it.

We'll be sitting around the campfire tonight, down on the beach. It's a fun way to watch the various fireworks displays up sound.

No burning . . . well my wife may have got a sunburn yesterday while we were in the pool . . . I did spend part of my long weekend though working on firewood . . . split up a little more than a cord of wood for 2013-2014 . . . and split up some red oak that I got for free . . . even split up most of that by hand (holy crap this wood splits easy.)

It's 85 here today. The only thing I might burn is a little wood in my chiminea once the coolness of evening sets in. However, June 30 was only in the 50s from a massive Alaskan storm. If the stove install had been finished, I would have burned that day.

There are times I miss the heat and humidity of my years on the east coast. But, not today!

Wow, that is hard to believe anyone would miss the heat and humidity! As for the bay area, I've been there a few times during the summer when it was really cool. Felt good for a while but 50's daytime in June is a bit much after being in the heat and humidity.

Last summer, the marine layer kept the high temps below 70 almost the entire summer. Even in Sacramento it barely made 85. We felt cheated. After all, this is SUNNY California. I got to travel to North Carolina last June while they were having a heat wave. It was glorious to feel real heat! (I think I was a cat in my last life.) Plus, there's nothing like a good, balmy, east coast evening. Sleeveless shirts and fireflies!

Hey, I went through Sacramento last June and about roasted. Of course that was on the same day I came over from Reno and there was still snow up on the mountain. It was also about 36 degrees up there. Time I got down it was hot! But I guess it did not stay that way all summer.

If you go from 36 in Reno it's gonna feel hot in Sacramento, no matter what the temp.

Sacramento is supposed to be 100 degrees most of the summer. I don't think they were complaining about 85, but those of us in the Bay Area were freezing our behinds off. As far as I'm concerned, there should be no reason to be wearing wool socks in July and August, but we were.

They had snow last week up at Tahoe when we had our inch of rain. Some of the resorts had skiing on the 4th of July.

Right now, our weather is perfect. Wonder how long it will last?

I guess I worded that wrong. It was not cold in Reno but up on the mountain is where it was cold. That was my first trip over that mountain and it causes me to snicker a bit when I saw that road sign about the next 36 miles or whatever it was to be downhill. I remember checking it and it was that far down the mountain! Around our area, an Interstate overpass is one of the biggest mountains we have. lol

I think it was me who worded it wrong. I knew it wasn't 36 in Reno. It's hot in Reno in the summer. You probably came over Donner Pass, and that was where it would have been cold. The temp changes quickly as you come out of the Sierras. Sacramento is in the Central Valley, and that is always hot, hot, hot!

I'm guessing there is no change of temp from the top to bottom of an overpass. :D

Yup. That was the route. And you are right about the valley. As for the change of temperature on the overpasses, it could be.....but very slightly. :)

No Im not today may be a while for me.

We'll be burning 24/7 for the next month if our forecast is correct, maximums of freezing, and plenty of hard frosts so winter has finally arrived... ;-)
