I am on track to not burn 1 full ton this season. What a crazy burning season so far for me.I can usually get 2 tons a season here where I am at.

Wow, wish I could say that! I'm on track to burn 1 ton just in January.

About two tons so far. Also two cleanings with the leaf blower and one cleaning of the stove's blowers.

Starting burning on cool nights in September and have burnt approx. 2 tons, mild winter so far have had the house too hot a few times. 32 degrees tonight, den downstairs running 78-80 degrees, upstairs 70-72. I have backed them thermostat down a little.

Despite the crazy (avg) temps being higher, we have burned over 2 tons since October.
We are running temp higher but also not trying to keep basement at 60 using oil.
When it was -10 the basement settled out at a balmy 52 so the floors are cooler.
On the plus side, we have burned a little over 300 gal of oil since last February. DHW and a small amount of heat 2nd floor.
We used to burn 925 gal/yr. Today's price for oil is about $3.50/gal.

Over 2 tons so far. I use my stove as a primary heat source. This time last year, I was in the middle of my 3rd ton.

Keep in mind the original post is from Weatherford, TX. With an ave high/low of 55/35 and forcasts near 70 later this week.

Still a heating bill we are all envious of. :)

I use my stove as primary also and I got a very late start. I could only burn maybe two nights in November, but started burning 24/7 in December. For whatever reason the temps have gone back to what they should be in October. So now I am only able to burn late night and early morning. The stat kicks it off around 10 am and the house gets to around 75, but we also have been having a lot of days in the 70's and even some 80's two weeks ago. Very mild winter for even Texas standards. On the bright side it looks like I get to burn all day today.

I am at a little over 2 1/2 tons for the season and started burning in October. The last few weeks with temps down in the single digits and teen's have really put a dent in the pellet supply though. This is my first full season burning and I stocked up with just over 4 tons. Next season I will have 6 tons on hand. If this were a normal winter for temps I would be looking for more pellets right now I'm sure. The good thing though is that even with 6 tons of pellets I will still be saving at least a $1,000 over heating with oil.

Will hit the 3 ton mark since October the end of next week with my PF100 furnace. Doing about 2 bags a day. With an oil burner that has a .85 gallon per hour nozzle....say running easily 20 minutes out of every hour.....that's 8 hours a day. Multiply 6.8 gallons by $3.76/gal for oil....that's $25.57 a day for oil. And the house is 70 degrees, not 62-64. No brainer!

Pellets burned since mid-October = 96 bags, gallons of propane for heating = 0.

Exactly the same. Propane furnace hasn't been on for over 2 years.

I'm at about 4 1/2 ton, but wasted a lot in the fall before I got the thermostat hooked up. Then again, I'd burned nearly 1000 gals of #2 by this time last year. This year it's been about 10 gals so far.

We have gone through just about 2 tons so far, last year we burned 4.5 so who knows where we will end up this year. It's been really weird temp wise here in VT also, it seems to be either mid 30's or single digits to below zero. Yesterday it was 40 and raining HARD, today 36*. A week ago at this time it struggled to get up to 10* during the day.

WHo knows!

Pellets burned since mid-oct = 112
Electric used for heat = 0
Plus been running warmer temps than I have for years, I'm enjoying it!!

On my second ton this season, must be warm where you are.
