So Cent ALASKA
Snow drifted over 1/2 way up the stack.
Gonna have to get warm to melt the snow, so I can get to the wood to split it, (in the spring)

New use for a stacked row of wood; "snow fence " :)
Now I'm even more thankful I built a wood shed ;)

Might have to get plowing there. I think you have been getting record snows right? I'll try and blow this non winter we have up your way. Be well

just build a big polebarn to keep it all in.

always love the pictures dave. was just looking at some pictures of my cousin on facebook of him flying to work over denali. pictures looks awesome.

Don't worry Dave. In most years the snow will melt before summer gets here. :)

Now that's a cool idea, Dave .. let the snow ice crystals steal the water out of the wood! We're going to try it....

Well I'm ready for "that day" ....... SOOOON ! :)
Just hope I'm not frozen the day it happens.
-23° last night.

As always great pics Dave. Personally, I would split it asap. Splits easier frozen and at -23 I would think that should do it! Lol..:)

When ASAP is, may vary in different locations.

Keep smiling, Dave, it was -57ºF here this morning. I'm hoping this is the last of the severe cold for this winter. We're supposed to get your weather later this week.

I think you already know this, but the spring sunlight warms the wood right through the snow and melts the snow away from the woodpile pretty quickly.

I know I'm not going to shovel snow so I can go split it.
It's up on pallets too, so it'll make it till mid spring.
April the top 2 - 3" of the ground will be thawed, so a muddy mess if it try to get near it.
It'll have to wait to May, I might be able to get to the cutting area & get a few ore loads by then.
So I might have more to split. I need about 3 more cords for 2013/14 wood to be done.
If winters are going to be like this one, I may need 6-1/2 cords per season, I sure hope not (Bigger shed ??? :)

-12°f now, to warm up tonight, & be in the teens tomorrow, I HOPE, I HOPE, I HOPE :)
Was -23 last night, to be +18 tomorrow 40° temp increase !!!
